SIB LEX is to contribute to the European Policy for IP Association’s 2024 Annual Conference on the theme “Intellectual Property and the Future of the data economy”. The event, taking place 11-13 September 2024 in Pisa, Italy, is organized by Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna and Università di Pisa in collaboration with EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office), EPO (European Patent Office), WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization) USPTO (United States Patent ant Trademark Office) SIAE (Società Italiana Autori ed Editori), Unione Industriale Pisana, Comune di Pisa.
Our partner Mario Pozzi is to speak at the roundtable “UPC litigation scenarios” along with Davide Rondano of SIB, Barbara Politi of Addì and Federica Canu of Enel Group.
In general, the conference will focus on the evolving interplay between IP systems and the new data economy, the challenges raised for regulatory and innovation ecosystems, and the reforms needed to shape IP and data laws so as to encourage creativity and innovation.
Speakers include scholars in the fields of economics, law, management and political science, as well as stakeholders and policymakers to discuss IP protection, science and innovation.
